User manual
STM3210B-EVAL demonstration software
Introduction
This user manual describes the demonstration firmware running on the STM3210B-EVAL
evaluation board. It can be used to evaluate the capabilities and on-board peripherals of the
low-density access line and performance line MCUs (STM32F101x4, STM32F101x6,
STM32F103x4, and STM32F103x6), as well as medium-density access line and
performance line MCUs (STM32F101xB, STM32F101x8, STM32F103xB, STM32F103x8).
The STM3210B-EVAL is delivered with either of two LCDs mounted on the MB542 board,
depending on the board version. The associated demonstration firmware, however, features
dynamic support for both types of LCD. For more information, please refer to Section 1.1:
LCD configuration in UM0426: “STM3210B-EVAL evaluation board”.
The STM3210B-EVAL board is delivered with the demonstration and the DFU (device
firmware upgrade) programmed in the internal Flash memory, and all the files needed by the
demonstration are programmed in the SPI Flash. At each reset (board power-up, external
reset, etc.) the demonstration is executed. To run the DFU, the Key push-button must be
kept pressed at reset.
In case the STM3210B-EVAL board was not factory-programmed, the demonstration
application was erased or the SPI Flash contents were modified, the DFU can be used to
program those files. For more details, refer to Section 3 and Section 4.
The STM3210B-EVAL firmware V1.1 package comes with two demonstration versions:
■ Standard demonstration (covered by sections 2.4 to 2.4.8).
For this demonstration the following is provided:
– Source files and preconfigured projects for the EWARM, RIDE and RVMDK
toolchains
– Binary image to be loaded with DFU if you are using a code-size-limited toolchain
■ Standard demonstration and Segger "emWin" graphics demonstration (covered by
sections 2.4 to 2.4.9).
For this demonstration, only a binary image is provided. To have the source files of this
demonstration, please contact your ST representative.
This demonstration firmware, the USB development kit (for DFU application), and other such
firmware are available for download from the STMicroelectronics website: www.st.com.
